Chicago Business Bankruptcy Attorney Deborah Kanner Ebner has held 37 consecutive appointments by the United States Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee, as a Bankruptcy Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois and has held appointments as the standing Chapter 12 Trustee and Case Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division.

Attorney Ebner served as Chair of the Bankruptcy Section for the 2007-2008 and 2009-2010 terms and on the League's Board of Governors for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 terms. As Bankruptcy Section Chair, she participated in the provision of technical comment to the House Judiciary Committee concerning proposed changes to the Bankruptcy Code, assisted with the development of comment for the Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules and the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Practice of the Judicial Conference of the United States and provided position letters of support to both the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate as to the Federal Judicial Salary Restoration Act of 2007.
Attorney Ebner received her B.S. from Auburn University and her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama.
